PhD Supervisor: Prof Dusan Uhrin
Thesis: Tested to destruction: advanced spectroscopic, spectrometric, and chemometric analysis of Scotch whisky

Analysis of Scotch Whisky by advanced spectroscopic and spectrometric methods. Specifically, liquid state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry (FTICRMS). Focus on method developments to study maturation processes and product protection. Additional work on other complex mixtures, natural organic matter, and software development for data analysis, visualisation and automation.

Supported by BBSRC grant BB/L016311/1 and the Scotch Whisky Research Institute (SWRI).
